The neighbourhood prairie smoke that I photographed in April has gone to seed. I think it's funny how the demure nodding flowers give rise to these wild seedheads which remind me of a punk with a pink Mohawk.

I didn't realize that prairie smoke was a geum. How interesting. I wish I had the wide open spaces to be able to grow some of these prairie flowers.
