Gaillardia aristata blooms

Unfortunately they aren't in my garden (here's what my gaillardia look like now). I'm glad I live in a neighbourhood with so many talented gardeners!

Gaillardia aristata seedlings

My gaillardia seeds from Wallflower Studio Seeds germinated, but something apparently finds them quite tasty. I hope at least a few survive to blooming age.

Gaillardia aristata: seeds

Gaillardia aristata, known in English as blanket flower and in French as gaillarde, is a perennial native to North America, with yellow flowers marked with dark rusty red.

This is my first attempt growing blanket flower. I got these seeds from Wall Flower Studio Seeds at Seedy Saturday, and I've got them sown in moist starter mix in the fridge.
