I don't remember there being this many hyacinths last year, but I don't know what else they could be.

I'm 99% sure these are Siberian squill; the landlords' kids and I rescued a number of bulbs, most identity unknown, from a neighbour's garden which was being replaced by lawn by the new owner.
How wonderful to see that the sleeping garden is awakening to the season ahead!!
